Concerning Mormons
I'm a non- Mormon living in Mormon nation. Ive been here a extended time - so Im utilized to it. Truly as of late I think most Mormons choose getting named LDS (In case ya dont know LDS stands for Latter Day Saints). The Mormon Churchs official name may be the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints".
You'll be able to realize why people are likely to shorten it).
Getting lived in Utah for umpteen years, and getting related to a bunch of LDS people I know for particular various issues about them.
Here they're, in no distinct order:
1~ Not all Mormons have beards. An individual asked me this once when I was in Florida on vacation. I gave them a funny look. (I wish I had a picture of mentioned funny appear but I dont).
2~ I firmly believe that there has in no way been a non-Mormon imprisoned in the Salt Lake LDS Temple who subsequently escaped by jumping out the window and swimming away via the Terrific Salt Lake.
This can be a story I've heard for years.
Its ridiculous. Noone could jump from the Temple into the Good Salt Lake - theyre miles away from each other. Now - if the person in question could *fly*
3~ Mormons arent Polygamists. Although it is accurate that the LDS church practiced polygamy in its early days, it was abolished in 1800 a thing.
All those polygamists you see on television arent Mormons. They may call their churches The Reorganized and Original LDS Church Which can be Bunches Greater Than That Other Extra Properly Identified LDS Church, but they arent LDS. Theyre Polygamists and Ive written about them elsewhere. 4~ Mormons dont put on funny clothes (nicely, no funnier than me. Though I am a confirmed print mixer and sandals with socks person). They use electrical energy and other present day conveniences. They watch crappy reality television, study trashy novels, appreciate PBS, and literary classics.
5~ Mormons are friendly. Properly some of em arent, but Ive recognized plenty of non- Mormons who werent either. I consider every person ought to be friendly.
6- Mormons are Christians who celebrate Easter and Christmas and all those other calorie ridden holidays. American Mormons celebrate the 4th of July and Thanksgiving. (I doubt those from other nations do this - although I suppose they could if they wanted to).
Those are some of the items I know for specific concerning LDS/Mormons. I really feel particular I know other stuff. When I think of it I'll let you realize. Do you want some more about Mitt Romney For President?
